Fags Hate God - "Viscera" (Grindcore Karaoke) Review
Some of the boys from Agoraphobic Nosebleed have put together a little website called Grindcore Karaoke. The site is a center for the free distribution of grindcore and powerviolence albums from unsigned bands you've never heard. This shit is dope, yo. I decided to check out a little band called Fags Hate God first, mostly because of the sweet name.
Fags Hate God, as they are described on the site, is "just a couple of dudes from bands no one gives a fuck about." Viscera is a six track release that was apparently "recorded in a garage using a Rock Band microphone". This is some
lo-fi powerviolence with hardcore roots
oh-yeah

. The six tracks clock in at around four minutes and are pretty fun. The drumming is cymbal heavy and the guitars are crunchy along with vocals that are fast and screamy. There's feedback aplenty. This is good shit that any self-respecting grindhead will totally dig.
While Viscera is nothing groundbreaking, this is a great little release. The recording is shitty, the mix isn't great, but the passion of the band is evident in every track. Whatever Fags Hate God lack in production, they make up for in energy. I have no idea if this was an afternoon lark for a couple of guys or if the band will ever have further output. If they do release more music, I will definitely listen.
And if you haven't done it yet, go check out Grindcore Karaoke(
www.grindcorekaraoke.com), ya lazy fucks. You can't be disappointed. Right now there are 27 albums that you can download for free that were handpicked by some of the guys from Agoraphobic Nosebleed. What the fuck are you waiting for?
