review

Damn, I nearly got my head taken off after hearing this band. Ultra//Negative are a New Hampshire based band featuring members of Hellhound and Ramlord who play a great style of hardcore, grind, and powerviolence. Hellhound has been reviewed on this blog before and I was impressed by their demo so I was looking forward to hearing what this band sounded like. Ultra// Negative cite Low Threat Profile, Extortion, and Endless Blockade as influences. I'd definitely agree with that description but also hear a crust undercurrent as well to the band's sound. Overall, this is a killer release with eight songs, the longest of which runs about a minute and thirty seconds. Finally, I'm at peace is a must listen for fans of old Trap Them, Dead Language, Haymaker, Iron Lung, Infest, and Mind Eraser. Great stuff! Enjoy.source
