Эта команда по иронии судьбы стала одной из первых, кто своей музыкой рассказывал мне, что такое пост-метал. Спустя время, я прослушал множество разнообразных групп, ознакомился с творчеством "отцов", и вот решил вспомнить, а чем же для меня являлся пост-метал в самом начале. Был удивлен не обнаружив темы здесь и решил создать свою. Музыка группы спровоцировала совершенно разные отзывы в свое время и нашла как своих почитателей, так и своих противников. Единственное место, где я нашел пост, был фанки, по-этому ссылки размещаю оттуда. Огромным плюсом, безусловно, является то, что группа не искусилась на использование вокала и продолжает играть сугубо в инструментальном ключе.

Empires' brand of melody-laden doom conjures up feelings of a bittersweet hopelessness. While interpreting stories from the harshness of the natural world, "Through Trial & Tribulation Comes Triumph," the band's debut radiates their personal emotions of loss, hope, despair and triumph through beautifully executed buildups. The drums and bass create pummeling rhythms and sub-melodies that can't help but remind you of the last dying days of the universe, while guitars worm their way in and out of hypnotizing trance-like passages and sorrow filled melodies. Transcending the plains of doom, post-rock and black metal- Empires does it's best to represent all facets of emotion channeled into the creation of their work. They aim to convey a feeling of crushing despair as well as that of a remaining hope.
